Bisceglie is a municipality of approximately 55,000 inhabitants of the Barletta-Andria-Trani BAT in Puglia. It is an important agricultural centre, with manufacturing industries mainly in the textile field. The city overlooks the Adriatic Sea for a coastline of approximately 7.5 km, between the municipalities of Trani, to the north, and Molfetta, to the south.
Bisceglie was born around an ancient, very active port. In the city made up of very narrow streets and vaults that climb over them, closely defended by the Frederick castle and the Maestra tower, the cathedral rises and dominates from the highest point, as well as ancient churches and monasteries, ancient noble palaces and an ancient theatre.
There are even dolmens and anciently inhabited caves. All this testifies to a very ancient history that is lost in the mists of time.
